New York, NY (May 9, 2012): Multi Packaging Solutions, Inc. (“MPS”), a leading manufacturer of print and packaging for the cosmetics, healthcare, horticulture, media, and consumer markets today announced plans to implement formalized LEAN manufacturing programs at its facilities in Obersulm, Germany and Tzcew, Poland.

The company’s LEAN philosophy is focused on customer satisfaction, quality performance, and continuous improvement throughout the supply chain. Their LEAN program in Europe is targeted at streamlining workflow and improving operational efficiencies using quantifiable benchmarks to measure results.

Over the next several months, the MPS team will develop detailed value stream maps and transition to a visual workplace to standardize processes for consistent performance. In addition to workflow improvements, there are also environmental benefits related to lower raw material consumption and reduced waste.

“Having embraced LEAN manufacturing throughout our U.S. network, we are now focused on our European operations.” commented Dennis Kaltman, President of MPS. “Our emphasis on the entire value stream ensures close collaboration with customers and vendors to define opportunities for overall improvement.”

Marc Schnizer, Director of Manufacturing and Finance for CD CARTONDRUCK GmbH, further commented “We are excited about implementing the LEAN program at our two European facilities, which builds on our CD Excellence Program established in 2009. The combined U.S. and European manufacturing teams is a great asset in adapting LEAN principles to our customer requirements.”
